Having been involved with our two larger sister sites (Dance-Forums.com and SalsaForums.com) since their early days, I feel comfortable saying that they each started out slowly as well. There's a limit to how many topics any one person can start and or post in at a given time, and there's a limit to how much activity any one thread can attract--especially amidst the very broad range of dance genres under the DF.net umbrella. Those caveats aside, however, neither DF.com nor SF.com started out any larger or faster than we are here at DF.net. Indeed, if I recall correctly it tok DF.com well over a year to reach 1,000 posts (whereas it now has well over 600,000).
For those who really want to help this site grow, the most important things you can do are (a) think of interesting topics/threads to start, and (b) contribute to other members' threads wherever you can. :D |
